Learning Obedience

When I first started to school they had a cattle stop in front of the school and across the road from the local store. Little children couldn't travel across the road but could see the wonderful things in the window from a distance. There was some candy that looked to be one of the most lovely sights I had ever seen and I wished that I might have some. It was a marshmallow candy with sprinkles of all different colors like confetti. As I stood there one day, God showed me where I could find some money off the path and into the weeds. I followed His directions and found a large silver coin where I was told it would be. I think it was a silver dollar. Since I was too young my brother who was five years older went to the store and bought the candy for me. Although I was always an obedient child, that was the first time I was obedient to God and followed exactly what he told me to do and did not doubt what he showed me. Obedience to God is the bedrock of my faith and as long as I have trusted in the Lord he has always blessed me.
